CRAIG C. LEWIS, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF
PRUDENTIAL CALIFORNIA REALTY, NAMED MODESTO’S CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
(MODESTO, California) During the 88th Annual Modesto Chamber of Commerce Member’s Choice Awards Dinner, held Thursday night, January 24, 2002, Craig C. Lewis was named Modesto’s "Citizen of the Year."
The "Citizen of the Year" award is bestowed on a community leader who is at the forefront of the economic and social development forces that shape the community. The award was presented by Cecil Russell, of Savemart Supermarkets, and Jim Weaver, of Pacific Southwest Container. Also present to acknowledge Craig’s contributions to the community were local, state and federal dignitaries, such as Ray Simon, Dick Monteith, Dennis Cardoza, Dave Cogdilland others.
"I am humbled and honored to receive this award," said Lewis in his acceptance speech. "I have great passion for this community and for what it can become. We must all do our part to make economic growth and prosperity a reality for our community."
Lewis, a past chairman of the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, is active in many community intiatives including serving as chairman of the Leadership Council of Stanislaus County and the Community Ad Hoc Transportation Committee (whose members include the Building Industry Association - BIA, Stanislaus County Farm Bureau, Stanislaus County Economic Development Corporation - SCEDCO, Modesto Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce).
