Stanislaus County has grown to be the preferred commuter area for bay area employees that wish to opt for the longer commute in favor of the less expensive cost of living here. The county is rich with agriculture from the wine vineyards to the almond trees. Stanislaus County is named after the Stanislaus River, a major tributary to the San Joaquin River. In addition to the rivers we have the Modesto Reservoir and the Woodward Reservoir, as well as Turlock Lake. Fishing, swimming, hiking, and boating of every kind can be enjoyed in Stanislaus County.

The County itself is about 1,495 square miles of desirable central California valley. Its population was estimated at 514,453 in 2010 by the US Census who equated that to about 344 persons per square mile. Stanislaus County is a great all around place to make your homebase.
