Ripon ~ "The Jewel of the Valley"
Ripon is a Cathedral City of about 15,700 residents in the San Joaquin Valley. Ripon is close by to Salida, Del Rio, Manteca, Escalon, Modesto, Riverdale Park, and Riverbank.
An agricultural area with crops of nuts and grapes, Ripon is known mostly for its almond production. If you’ve ever seen an almond grove in bloom, you know what beautiful scenery that is. 2012 marks Ripon’s 50th Annual Almond Blossom Festival featuring a Queen Coronation, Lions Club Spaghetti Dinner, Carnival at Mistlin Sports Park, Diaper Derby, Fun Run and Almond Blossom Parade.
Recently downtown redevelopment did some sprucing up with brick planters and now flowers line the streets adding to its charm. Ripon is very much a community to call to home. With friendly residents, good schools and low crime, you can feel safe jogging or riding through the neighborhood or spending time in the park on a summer evening.
The quality of life here is high and you’ll enjoy the sense of community in Ripon. You may want to explore the farmer’s market for local fresh produce, see a Ripon High School play, enjoy one of the two great golf courses or just go fishing in the San Joaquin River. Whatever you do, the City of Ripon invites you to “Come spend a day, and you might decide to stay for a lifetime.”
